Una race condition nell'implementazione del client SMB in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 e Windows 7 consente ai server SMB remoti e agli attaccanti man-in-the-middle di eseguire codice arbitrario, e nell'implementazione del client SMB in Windows Vista Gold, SP1 e SP2 e Server 2008 Gold e SP2 consente agli utenti locali di ottenere privilegi, tramite una risposta SMB Negotiate manipolata ad hoc, nota come "SMB Client Race Condition Vulnerability".
