L'implementazione PPP in Cisco IOS 12.2 e nelle versioni da 15.0 a 15.2, quando sono utilizzati Point-to-Point Termination and Aggregation (PTA) e L2TP, consente agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash del dispositivo) tramite traffico di rete manipolato ad hoc, noto anche come Bug ID CSCtf71673.
