afd.sys nel Driver di Funzioni Ausiliarie (Ancillary Function Driver) in Microsoft Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, R2 e R2 SP1, nonché in Windows 7 Gold e SP1 su piattaforme a 64 bit non convalida correttamente l'input in modalità utente passato alla modalità kernel, consentendo agli utenti locali di ottenere privilegi tramite un'applicazione appositamente creata, nota come "Vulnerabilità AfdPoll Elevation of Privilege".
