Il componente provider SSL in Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, R2 e R2 SP1, Windows 7 Gold e SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 e Windows RT non gestisce correttamente i pacchetti crittografati, consentendo agli attaccanti man-in-the-middle di eseguire attacchi SSLv2 downgrade contro (1) sessioni SSLv3 o (2) sessioni TLS intercettando le handshake e iniettando contenuti, noto anche come "Vulnerabilità di bypass delle funzionalità di sicurezza del protocollo Microsoft SSL Version 3 e TLS".
