La funzione netmon_open in wiretap/netmon.c nel parser di file Netmon presente in Wireshark 1.8.x precedente alla versione 1.8.9 e nelle versioni 1.10.x precedenti alla 1.10.1 non alloca correttamente la memoria, consentendo ad attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash dell'applicazione) tramite un file trace manipolato ad hoc.
