La funzione check_secret presente nel file authenticate.c di rsync nelle versioni 3.1.0 e precedenti consente agli attaccanti remoti di provocare un denial of service (loop infinito e consumo elevato della CPU) tramite un nome utente che non esiste nel file secrets.
