Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2, Server 2008 SP2 e R2 SP1, nonché Server 2012 Gold e R2 consentono ad attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (blocco del sistema e interruzione del servizio RADIUS) tramite stringhe username costruite appositamente verso (1) Internet Authentication Service (IAS) o (2) Network Policy Server (NPS), noto come "Vulnerabilità di denial of service nell'implementazione RADIUS di Network Policy Server".
