La versione 2.7 di Python (CPython) della Python Software Foundation presenta una vulnerabilità CWE-77: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command ('Command Injection') nel modulo shutil (funzione make_archive) che può causare un Denial of service, un Information gain tramite l'iniezione di file arbitrari nel sistema o nell'intero disco. Questo attacco sembra essere sfruttabile tramite il passaggio di input utente non filtrato alla funzione. Questa vulnerabilità sembra essere stata risolta dopo il commit add531a1e55b0a739b0f42582f1c9747e5649ace.
