È stato rilevato un problema nel kernel Linux precedente alla versione 5.0. La funzione __mdiobus_register() in drivers/net/phy/mdio_bus.c chiama put_device(), che provocherà un use-after-free durante l'inizializzazione di fixed_mdio_bus_init. Ciò causerà una negazione del servizio (DoS).
