In Squid dalle versioni 3.x alla 3.5.28, dalla 4.x alla 4.17 e nella serie 5.x precedenti alla 5.6, a causa di una gestione impropria del buffer, può verificarsi un Denial of Service durante l'elaborazione delle risposte provenienti da server Gopher particolarmente lunghe.
