Il plugin per WordPress "Stop User Enumeration" precedente alla versione 1.7.3 blocca le richieste all'endpoint REST API /wp-json/wp/v2/users/ da parte di utenti non autorizzati. Tuttavia, questa protezione può essere aggirata codificando in URL il percorso dell'API.
