La funzione fgetl() di hashcat in src/filehandling.c scrive un terminatore null un byte oltre il buffer del chiamante quando una riga di input ha esattamente la lunghezza del buffer. Gli attaccanti possono innescare questa scrittura fuori dai limiti (out-of-bounds) nello heap fornendo un file hash, potfile o wordlist contenente una riga di esatti HCBUFSIZ_LARGE byte.
