The function `sscanf(timestr + 1, "%[^:]:%s", timespand, timespand[1])` will copy the timezone string content to timespand without doing a boundary check, causing a buffer overflow and overwriting the memory area after the array, which may cause the program to crash or even remote code execution, thereby triggering this security vulnerability. |
