| Descrizione | OpenDMARC contains an invalid pointer dereference in its built-in SPF parser when processing a malformed IPv6 literal in an `ip6:` mechanism. In `opendmarc_spf_ipv6_explode()`, the parser may advance past a failed delimiter search and subsequently dereference an invalid address, causing the process to crash.
A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger the vulnerability by publishing a crafted SPF record under a domain they control and sending a message from that domain. Successful exploitation terminates the OpenDMARC process, disrupting DMARC and SPF evaluation and potentially causing a denial of service in mail processing.
The issue affects builds configured with `--with-spf` that use OpenDMARC’s internal SPF implementation. Builds linked against `libspf2` do not reach the affected code path. |
