Linux 커널 2.6.26.4 이전 버전의 Stream Control Transmission Protocol(SCTP) 구현체인 net/sctp/socket.c는 SCTP-AUTH API 함수를 처리하기 전에 SCTP-AUTH 확장이 활성화되어 있는지 확인하지 않습니다. 이로 인해 공격자는 (1) sctp_setsockopt_auth_chunk, (2) sctp_setsockopt_hmac_ident, (3) sctp_setsockopt_auth_key, (4) sctp_setsockopt_active_key, (5) sctp_setsockopt_del_key, (6) sctp_getsockopt_maxburst, (7) sctp_getsockopt_active_key, (8) sctp_getsockopt_peer_auth_chunks 또는 (9) sctp_getsockopt_local_auth_chunks 호출로 이어지는 벡터를 통해 NULL 포인터 역참조 및 패닉을 유발하여 서비스 거부(Denial of Service)를 일으킬 수 있습니다.
