FFmpeg 9.0.2 이전 버전에는 libavutil/encryption_info.c의 av_encryption_init_info_free() 함수에서 스택 고갈(stack exhaustion) 취약점이 존재합니다. 이 취약점은 MOV 디뮥서(mov_read_pssh())가 구축한 AVEncryptionInitInfo 연결 리스트를 재귀적으로 해제하는 과정에서 발생합니다. 공격자는 수만 개의 작은 pssh 박스를 포함하도록 조작된 MP4 파일을 제공하여 스택을 고갈시키고 프로세스를 충돌시킬 수 있으며, 이 과정에서 2차원(quadratic) 수준의 CPU 소비도 유발합니다.
