Queue

New vulnerabilities are stored in a queue. These entries are identified regarding unique IDs or URLs.

The VulDB Mod Team is responsible for processing all queued items. At first the new entry is compared to similar entries existing in the database. If the entry already exists, the current entry is updated. If it is a new submission, a new entry will be created.

After adding a new entry it is possible to moderate the field values. As more data is gathered and documented, as more details will be published.

Moderators are searching additional data regarding the vulnerability on the Internet. The vulnerability databases, vendor-specific sites and mailing lists are checked to improve data quality.

An entry is declared as processed if its added to the database and uploaded to the web site.
