| Descrição | Arbitrary File Upload to Remote Code Execution (RCE): A critical arbitrary file upload vulnerability exists in the School Management System. The application allows authenticated users (e.g., Teachers) to upload notes but fails to implement any file extension whitelisting or MIME-type validation.
Furthermore, the application relies on a weak and predictable cryptographic mechanism for file renaming. The uploaded file is renamed using the following insecure logic: $newName = $senderId . time() . "." . $fileExtension;
Successful exploitation of this arbitrary file upload vulnerability allows an authenticated attacker to upload a malicious WebShell to the server. This directly leads to Remote Code Execution (RCE). An attacker can execute arbitrary system commands, potentially leading to a complete compromise of the underlying server. This results in a total loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system and its data. |
