| Título | TRENDnet TEW-635BRM V1.00.03 Stack-based Buffer Overflow |
|---|
| Descrição | The /sbin/rc binary of the TRENDnet TEW-635BRM router contains a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in the start_httpd function. The function retrieves the NVRAM variable device_name via nvram_scm_safe_get() and copies it directly into a fixed-size stack buffer using strcpy() — with no length validation whatsoever. Because the start of this buffer sits only 136 bytes below the saved return address ($ra), any device_name value longer than 136 bytes overwrites $ra, causing start_httpd to crash and preventing the web service (mini_httpd) from starting. A precisely crafted payload can hijack the control flow and achieve remote code execution (RCE). |
