A missing check for popup window handling in Fullscreen in Google Chrome on macOS prior to 69.0.3497.81 allowed a remote attacker to spoof the contents of the Omnibox (URL bar) via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 09/04/2018. The weakness was disclosed 01/09/2019 by Natalie Silvanovich with Google Project Zero (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at chromereleases.googleblog.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-16080 since 08/29/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
