Mozilla Firefox 3.0.11 之前版本以及 SeaMonkey 1.1.17 之前版本会将本地文档与位于 URL 中 file:// 子字符串之后的外部域名关联，这使得经过用户协助的远程攻击者能够通过构造的 HTML 文档读取任意 Cookie，如以 file://example.com/C:/ 开头的 URL 所示。
