Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4及更早版本、Windows XP SP3及更早版本、Windows Server 2003 SP2及更早版本、Windows Server 2008 SP2及更早版本、Windows Server 2008 R2、Exchange Server 2003 SP3及更早版本、Exchange Server 2007 SP2及更早版本以及Exchange Server中smtpsvc.dll（6.0.2600.5949之前版本）的DNS实现在处理响应时，未验证响应的事务ID是否与查询的事务ID匹配。这一缺陷使得中间人攻击者更容易伪造DNS响应。该漏洞与CVE-2010-0024和CVE-2010-0025不同。
