Apache HTTP Server 版本从 2.0.x 到 2.0.64，以及 2.2.x 到 2.2.21 中的 server/util.c 文件里的 ap_pregsub 函数，在启用 mod_setenvif 模块时，未对环境变量值的大小进行限制。攻击者可通过包含精心构造的 SetEnvIf 指令的 .htaccess 文件以及精心构造的 HTTP 请求头（涉及 (1) “len +=”语句和 (2) apr_pcalloc 函数调用），导致本地用户引发拒绝服务（内存消耗或空指针解引用）。此漏洞与 CVE-2011-3607 不同。
