In all Qualcomm products with Android releases from CAF using the Linux kernel, a race condition can allow access to already freed memory while querying event status via DCI.

The bug was discovered 09/05/2017. The weakness was released 09/21/2017 by Alibaba with Qihoo 360 (Website). The advisory is shared at source.android.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-8281 since 04/25/2017. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
