Octopus before 3.17.7 allows attackers to obtain sensitive cleartext information by reading a variable JSON file in certain situations involving Offline Drop Targets.

The bug was discovered 10/17/2017. The weakness was released 10/19/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-15609 since 10/19/2017. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
