CVE-2026-101492 in Siebel CRM Integration
Summary
by MITRE • 10/21/2026
Vulnerability in the Siebel CRM Integration product of Oracle Siebel CRM (component: Open Integration). Supported versions that are affected are 25.12-26.9. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Siebel CRM Integration. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Siebel CRM Integration, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Siebel CRM Integration accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Siebel CRM Integration accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 4.7 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N).

The identified vulnerability resides within the Open Integration component of Oracle Siebel CRM, specifically affecting supported versions ranging from 25.12 through 26.9. This security flaw is classified as a difficult-to-exploit issue that permits unauthenticated attackers to compromise the integrity and confidentiality of data managed by the Siebel CRM Integration service. The attack vector relies on network access via HTTP, allowing remote exploitation without prior authentication credentials. However, the complexity of this vulnerability introduces significant barriers for potential adversaries, requiring specific conditions to be met before a successful exploit can occur.
A critical characteristic of this vulnerability is its reliance on human interaction from a party other than the attacker. This requirement aligns with social engineering techniques where an unsuspecting user must perform an action that triggers the malicious payload or logic flaw within the application. Despite this dependency, the scope of impact extends beyond the immediate component in which the vulnerability exists. The attack results in a scope change, meaning that compromising Siebel CRM Integration can lead to broader security implications for additional products integrated with it. This lateral movement potential amplifies the risk profile significantly, as an initial foothold in one system can cascade into wider organizational compromise.
The operational impact of successful exploitation includes unauthorized modifications and access to sensitive data within the Siebel CRM ecosystem. Specifically, attackers gain the ability to perform unauthorized updates, inserts, or deletes against accessible integration data, thereby compromising data integrity. Additionally, there is a risk of unauthorized read access to a subset of this data, which impacts confidentiality. These outcomes correspond directly to weaknesses categorized under CWE-20 Improper Input Validation and potentially CWE-798 if the issue stems from hardcoded credentials or excessive privileges in API endpoints. The lack of proper validation on incoming HTTP requests allows malicious actors to manipulate state-changing operations without authorization.
From a threat intelligence perspective, this vulnerability maps to MITRE ATT&CK techniques involving Initial Access via Phishing for Credential Harvesting or Drive-by Compromise if the human interaction involves clicking a malicious link that triggers server-side logic flaws. It also relates to Persistence and Privilege Escalation vectors if the unauthorized data modifications allow attackers to maintain access or escalate privileges within the integrated environment. The CVSS 3.1 base score of 4.7 reflects these factors, balancing the network accessibility against the high complexity and user interaction requirements.
Mitigation strategies should focus on strict input validation and output encoding for all HTTP endpoints exposed by the Open Integration component. Implementing robust authentication mechanisms to prevent unauthenticated access is paramount, even if the vulnerability technically allows bypasses under specific conditions. Organizations must ensure that their Siebel CRM versions are updated to patched releases provided by Oracle as soon as they become available. Furthermore, deploying web application firewalls can help detect and block anomalous HTTP requests that attempt to exploit input validation flaws. Security awareness training for users is also recommended to reduce the likelihood of successful human interaction-based exploitation, thereby mitigating the attack surface effectively.
