Extended Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), come implementato in Cisco IOS 11.3 fino alla versione 12.2 e in altri prodotti, consente ad attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (flood) inviando un elevato numero di annunci di vicini EIGRP falsificati, il che provoca una ARP storm sulla rete locale.
