In Firefox versione precedente alla 1.0.3, Mozilla Suite versione precedente alla 1.7.7 e Netscape 7.2 gli attaccanti remoti possono eseguire script e codice arbitrari tramite un nuovo plugin di ricerca che utilizza sidebar.addSearchEngine, noto anche come "Firesearching 1".
