ISC BIND 9.0.x, 9.1.x, 9.2.0 bis 9.2.7, 9.3.0 bis 9.3.3, 9.4.0a1 bis 9.4.0a6, 9.4.0b1 bis 9.4.0b4, 9.4.0rc1 und 9.5.0a1 (nur Bind Forum) ermöglicht es Remoteangreifern, einen Denial of Service (Exit) auszulösen, indem eine DNS-Antwort vom Typ * (ANY), die mehrere RRsets enthält, verwendet wird; dies löst einen Assertion-Fehler aus, auch bekannt als „DNSSEC Validation“-Schwachstelle.
