Im Linux-Kernel wurde folgende Schwachstelle behoben:

ksmbd: Behebung eines slab-out-of-bounds-Lesezugriffs in ksmbd_alloc_user()

ksmbd_alloc_user() kopiert resp->hash_sz Bytes aus der mountd-IPC-Anmeldeantwort mit:

user->passkey_sz = resp->hash_sz; user->passkey = kmalloc(resp->hash_sz, KSMBD_DEFAULT_GFP); if (user->passkey) memcpy(user->passkey, resp->hash, resp->hash_sz);

resp->hash_sz ist eine von der Antwort gelieferte __u16-Variable, aber resp->hash[] besteht nur aus KSMBD_REQ_MAX_HASH_SZ Bytes. Eine fehlerhafte oder bösartige Anmeldeantwort kann hash_sz weit darüber hinaus festlegen (bis zu 65535), sodass die memcpy()-Funktion über das Ende des Antwortobjekts hinausliest. ipc_validate_msg() begrenzt hash_sz nicht, daher sollte jede Antwort abgelehnt werden, bei der hash_sz den on-stack-Hash[]-Puffer überschreitet, bevor eine Zuweisung und Kopierung erfolgt.
