En el kernel de Linux, se ha resuelto la siguiente vulnerabilidad:

mips: seleccionar CONFIG_WEAK_REORDERING_BEYOND_LLSC desde CONFIG_EYEQ

En los núcleos CPU I6500, las instrucciones lld y scd no ofrecen garantías de ordenamiento (igual que todas las demás instrucciones). Para respetar el supuesto de que arch_cmpxchg() está completamente ordenado, debemos inyectar instrucciones sync por encima y por debajo de nuestros bucles lld/scd utilizando la infraestructura WEAK_REORDERING_BEYOND_LLSC ya implementada.

De lo contrario, pueden ocurrir cosas graves:

Mi reproductor inicial fue la suite de pruebas xdp-tools. Un reproductor independiente sería un bucle lld/scd que, cuando la lectura se reordena por parte de la CPU, desencadena una falla (fault). Podemos lograr esto desde el espacio de usuario presionando una tubería anónima, que utiliza un mutex. Programa utilizado:
