| Título | SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0 Improper Access Controls |
|---|
| Descripción | SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0 is vulnerable to an authenticated Broken Access Control flaw caused by missing server-side authorization checks in the user account update functionality (/admin/edit_user_account.php). The endpoint authorizes requests solely based on the presence of a valid authenticated session and does not verify whether the authenticated user is permitted to modify the specified account. Consequently, a low-privileged CIT user can send a crafted HTTP POST request using their own valid PHPSESSID cookie to update arbitrary user accounts by specifying the target user's identifier (e.g., id=4, username). This allows modification of administrator account attributes, including resetting the administrator's password, resulting in privilege escalation and full administrative compromise of the application. |
