Plusieurs dépassements de tampon dans Novell iPrint Client avant la version 5.06 permettent aux attaquants distants d'exécuter du code arbitraire en appelant le contrôle ActiveX Novell iPrint (alias ienipp.ocx) avec : (1) un troisième argument trop long pour la méthode GetDriverFile ; un premier argument trop long pour les méthodes (2) GetPrinterURLList ou (3) GetPrinterURLList2 ; (4) un argument trop long pour la méthode GetFileList ; un argument trop long pour les méthodes (5) GetServerVersion, (6) GetResourceList ou (7) DeleteResource, lié à nipplib.dll ; un argument uploadPath trop long pour les méthodes (8) UploadPrinterDriver ou (9) UploadResource, lié aux URI ; (10) un septième argument trop long pour la méthode UploadResource ; une chaîne de caractères trop longue dans le (11) deuxième, (12) troisième ou (13) quatrième argument de la méthode GetDriverSettings, liée à la fonction IppGetDriverSettings dans nipplib.dll ; ou encore (14) un huitième argument trop long pour la méthode UploadResourceToRMS.
