La fonction send_data_to_stdout dans prnt/hpijs/hpcupsfax.cpp de HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP) 3.x antérieure à la version 3.11.10 permet aux utilisateurs locaux d'écraser des fichiers arbitraires via une attaque par lien symbolique sur le fichier temporaire /tmp/hpcupsfax.out.
