Le fichier service/jni/com_android_server_wifi_WifiNative.cpp dans le module Wi-Fi d'Android versions 5.0.x antérieures à la version 5.0.2, 5.1.x antérieures à la version 5.1.1 et 6.x avant le correctif du 2016-08-01 permet aux attaquants d’obtenir des informations sensibles via une application malveillante qui fournit une adresse MAC comportant un nombre insuffisant de caractères, également référencé sous l'identifiant bug interne 28164077.
