| Titre | paul-gauthier Aider 0.86.3 Server-Side Request Forgery |
|---|
| Description | Aider v0.86.3 contains a missing protection mechanism in its built‑in URL scraping feature. When repository content (e.g., README.md) references internal or cloud metadata endpoints such as http://x.x.x.x/latest/meta-data/iam/security-credentials/, Aider's scraping path attempts to fetch those URLs without filtering private or link‑local addresses and without warning the user. In a verified test, Aider immediately tried to scrape the AWS EC2 metadata endpoint before generating code, and subsequently produced an unrestricted fetch function and test script targeting the same endpoint. In a cloud‑hosted environment, this behavior could expose sensitive metadata or credentials. The vulnerability allows a remote attacker who can insert a URL into repository content to induce Aider to make requests to internal services. |
