| Titre | Assimp commit 17c12da Memory Corruption |
|---|
| Description | A heap-use-after-free vulnerability exists in Assimp when parsing malformed ASE files. The flaw occurs in the `aiNode::~aiNode()` destructor at `scene.cpp:150` during recursive node cleanup. Due to improper parsing of malicious input, an invalid node hierarchy is constructed. During recursive destruction, the program attempts to access member variables (`mNumChildren`, `mChildren`) of an already-freed aiNode object, resulting in an illegal heap memory read. This leads to an immediate program crash and potential memory corruption. Remote attackers can exploit this vulnerability via a crafted ASE file to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. |
