| Titre | Open5GS v2.7.6-103-g1c1d9e1 Denial of Service |
|---|
| Description | Open5GS v2.7.6-103-g1c1d9e1 is affected by a denial-of-service vulnerability in its Diameter handling path when using the freeDiameter stack. When open5gs-hssd, or another Open5GS component using libfdproto/libfdcore, processes a malformed Diameter Capabilities-Exchange-Request (CER) containing an invalid Vendor-Specific-Application-Id grouped AVP with conflicting Auth-Application-Id occurrences, freeDiameter reaches an unrecoverable branch in parserules_check_one_rule() and calls abort().
As a result, the Open5GS daemon terminates with SIGABRT instead of rejecting the malformed Diameter message gracefully. An attacker with network access to the Diameter listener, commonly TCP/SCTP port 3868 depending on configuration, can trigger a crash and cause a denial of service in the affected Open5GS Diameter-facing component. |
