| Titre | vLLM Project vLLM 0.27.1 Asymmetric Resource Consumption |
|---|
| Description | vLLM 0.27.1 contains an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in the Rust frontend's handling of caller-supplied Jinja chat templates. The /v1/chat/completions endpoint renders the request-controlled chat_template field without an evaluation budget or equivalent computational limit. A remote attacker can submit a small specially crafted template containing nested loops that causes disproportionate CPU consumption. Concurrent malicious requests can exhaust the bounded request-runtime worker pool, resulting in denial of service for chat completion requests while health-check endpoints remain responsive. |
