Soumettre #942160: vgmstream r2117 Resource Consumptioninformation

Titrevgmstream r2117 Resource Consumption
Descriptionvgmstream contains a CWE-400 vulnerability in parse_mus() in src/meta/mus_acm.c. The .MUS parser reads an attacker-controlled decimal track count with strtol() and immediately uses that value in calloc(file_count, sizeof(char *)) and in subsequent per-entry allocations without validating that the count is positive, reasonably bounded, or consistent with the remaining input. A crafted .MUS playlist can therefore trigger excessive memory allocation before any track entry or companion file is validated, terminating the process or exhausting memory in applications embedding vgmstream. I re-verified this issue against the latest upstream HEAD commit 79bc65b52cddc61b859679c1c47dc57092872ae1 on 2026-08-21 and confirmed that the vulnerable logic is still present there.
