L'implementazione di STARTTLS in Cyrus IMAP Server precedente alla versione 2.4.7 non restringe correttamente il buffering I/O, consentendo agli attaccanti man-in-the-middle di inserire comandi nelle sessioni crittografate inviando un comando in chiaro che viene elaborato dopo l'avvio del TLS; ciò è correlato a un attacco di "plaintext command injection", simile al problema descritto nella CVE-2011-0411.
