La funzionalità XML in IBM DB2 9.5 prima di FP9, nelle versioni da 9.7 fino a FP5 e da 9.8 fino a FP4 consente agli utenti remoti autenticati di causare un denial of service (loop infinito) chiamando la funzione XMLPARSE con una stringa espressa ad hoc.
