Il client ntpd di NTP nelle versioni 4.x precedenti alla 4.2.8p4 e nelle versioni 4.3.x precedenti alla 4.3.77 consente agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service tramite una serie di messaggi "KOD" manipolati ad hoc.
