Un heap-based buffer overflow nella funzione parse_packet di network.c in collectd, nelle versioni precedenti alla 5.4.3 e nelle serie 5.x precedenti alla 5.5.2, consente agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash del daemon) o potenzialmente eseguire codice arbitrario tramite un pacchetto di rete manipolato ad hoc.
