V-webmail 1.6.4の複数のPHPリモートファイルインクルージョン脆弱性により、攻撃者は(1) Mail/RFC822.php、(b) Net/Socket.php、(c) XML/Parser.php、(d) XML/Tree.php、(e) Mail/mimeDecode.php、(f) Console/Getopt.php、(g) System.php、(h) Log.php、および(i) File.php（いずれもincludes/pear/内）におけるCONFIG[pear_dir]パラメータ内のURLを介して、任意のPHPコードを実行できる。また、(j) includes/prepend.phpおよび(k) includes/cachedConfig.phpに対するCONFIG[pear_dir]パラメータ、ならびに(l) prepend.phpおよび(m) email.list.search.php（いずれもincludes/内）における(2) CONFIG[includes]パラメータを介しても同様の攻撃が可能である。なお、includes/mailaccess/pop3.phpに対するCONFIG[pear_dir]パラメータに関する問題は既にCVE-2006-2666でカバーされている。
