| Title | EFM IPTIME A8004T 14.18.2 Command Injection |
|---|
| Description | The ipTIME A8004T firmware (version 14.18.2) contains a critical vulnerability chain that allows for unauthenticated remote root compromise, originating from a logical flaw in the session validation mechanism of the core timepro.cgi binary. The access control function httpcon_check_session_url erroneously skips authentication checks for HTTP requests where the URL path does not begin with the /sess-bin/ prefix , allowing attackers to bypass login requirements by simply modifying the request path to /cgi/timepro.cgi. This bypass enables unauthorized access to the restricted hiddenloginsetup function, permitting the forced reset of the administrator password to satisfy the security check of the secondary vulnerability . Subsequently, by enabling the "Remote Support" feature and accessing the hidden d.cgi debug endpoint with a hardcoded magic string (!@dnjsrurelqjrm*&), the attacker can bypass the final security layer and inject arbitrary shell commands directly into the popen system call via the cmd parameter, resulting in full root access . |
