Submit #754511: D-Link DWR-M960 V1.01.07 Stack-based Buffer Overflowinfo

TitleD-Link DWR-M960 V1.01.07 Stack-based Buffer Overflow
DescriptionDuring a security review of the D-Link DWR-M960 (Hardware B1, Firmware V1.01.07), a buffer overflow vulnerability was discovered in the WLAN Schedule configuration endpoint /boafrm/formNewSchedule. The vulnerability is located within the sub_44E0F8 function. This function handles the scheduling of wireless network availability. After processing the schedule entries (in a loop from 0 to 10), the function retrieves the submit-url parameter. If the save_apply parameter is present (indicating a save operation), the function executes a strcpy operation to copy the content of submit-url into a global variable/buffer named wizard_htm. The code fails to verify if the length of the input string exceeds the size of the destination buffer. A malicious actor can exploit this by supplying an oversized submit-url parameter, leading to a buffer overflow.
