| Title | HdrHistogram (Open Source) HdrHistogram 2.2.2 and earlier Improper Input Validation |
|---|
| Description | The `DoubleHistogram.recordValue(double value)` method fails to validate against IEEE 754 special values. When `NaN` (Not-a-Number) is passed as the value, it bypasses the range check because `NaN` returns `false` for all comparison operators per the IEEE 754 specification. The NaN is then cast to `long` which produces `0L`, silently recording a phantom count at bucket 0 and corrupting all subsequent percentile and mean calculations. |
