Submit #884062: TOTOLINK NR1800X V9.1.0u.6681_B20230703 Stack-based Buffer Overflowinfo

TitleTOTOLINK NR1800X V9.1.0u.6681_B20230703 Stack-based Buffer Overflow
DescriptionA stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the `/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi` endpoint due to the unsafe use of the `sprintf` function when processing user-supplied input. Specifically, when handling requests associated with the `setTracerouteCfg` action, the application does not properly validate the user's session or cookies before processing the supplied parameters, allowing unauthenticated access to the vulnerable code path. The `command` parameter is copied into a fixed-size stack buffer through an unsafe `sprintf` operation without proper bounds checking. As a result, an attacker can send an overly long payload in the `command` parameter to trigger a stack-based buffer overflow. Successful exploitation may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to corrupt stack memory and potentially achieve arbitrary code execution on the affected device.
